arizona

the ice tea by that name is way too sweet.  the state by that name, however, i'm having trouble noting much nice about.  i know most of the state lives in the phoenix area:  phoenix, scottsdale, tempe.  been there and...not much to say.  tucson is supposed to be nice, i've never been there.
but this section of ne arizona?  naah.  flagstaff, however, appears distinctly different.

if it wasn't for the petrified forest, painted desert and grand canyon....  unfortunately, you have to go through the rest of northern arizona to see them.

and that can be pretty overwhelming...

and the garbage...
and poverty...
look hard you'll see two trailers, why would anyone live out here?  what would you do?

and i've mentioned this elsewhere, but how is arizona still mining and burning coal?  sure, someone's making money off it and there are a few people with good paying coal jobs and i'm sure it's clean coal (sic), but.... the state has a wealth of free, renewable energy in wind and solar.  how can that make economic sense?
i'm a little down on this state right now.  however, i still have another week to go.
